Hello and welcome to my little artsy corner of cyberspace! My name is Jolie Nazor and I am a 2006 graduate from Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida, with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art with a major in Computer Animation. While at RCAD, I found four areas of the computer animation process that interest me more than the rest: Rigging, Animating, Compositing, and, my most favorite, Lighting. I worked for American Animation Studios in Prosser, Washington, in 2007 as the studio's first Lighter for their direct to DVD films "Patrick Henry: Quest for Freedom" and "Paul Revere: Midnight Ride". While currently unemployed, I am attending classes at the Santa Rosa Junior College. I am working to keep my figure drawing skills sharp and improve upon them as well as keeping up with the latest Adobe products, mainly Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and After Effects. I am also studying some computer programming languages, C++ and Assembly Language (x86-64 & GNU/Linux (Ubuntu)), and getting more in-depth knowledge and experience in UNIX, Linux, and Microsoft Windows, using the operating systems more through their command lines than through their graphical interfaces.
As I continue my search for my next job, my self-confirmation in my occupational choice is continually renewed as I view the latest movies, video games, commercials, and other entertainment around me. I am still finding myself amazed by, and studying the work, picking out my favorite scenes of the work and analyzing the methods used behind their creation. Also, I am still studying the world around me, trying to figure out the methods I would use to recreate the real-world lighting effects in the 3-D world. Every time I open Maya between class deadlines, I feel that I have returned home regardless of how difficult Maya may be to work with at times.
